New CEO Marissa Mayer 'turning Yahoo into Google'

NEW CEO Marissa Mayer has announced free food for Yahoo employees and is beginning to model the firm on her former employer Google, reports say.
Mayer has also announced regular mass staff meetings, in another move also borrowed from Google. She was Google’s 20th employee, and her departure caused shock when it was announced recently.

Google 'in breach' of UK data privacy agreement

Google has admitted that it had not deleted users' personal data gathered during surveys for its Street View service.
The data should have been wiped almost 18 months ago as part of a deal signed by the firm in November 2010.

Yellow Media shares fall on doubts over recap plan

Shares of heavily indebted Yellow Media Inc fell 29 percent on fears that some of its lenders may reject the telephone directory publisher's recapitalization plan.
Yellow Media said on Monday it plans to exchange C$1.8 billion of its credit facilities and medium-term notes for senior secured notes, subordinated unsecured exchangeable debt, new common shares and cash to cut debt and extend debt maturity.

Telefonica suspends 2012 dividend payment

Telefonica has cancelled the dividend and share buyback program corresponding to 2012, including November 2012 and May 2013 cash and scrip payments, respectively. This one-time exceptional measure is due to the current extremely challenging economic and financial environment, the company said.
