Converting Facebook SMB Pages to Websites

Various companies have built SMB websites and landing pages by scraping the Web. PaperG comes to mind. How about using Facebook. BIA/Kelsey data from our Local Commerce Monitor shows that more than 40 percent of U.S. SMBs have Facebook pages. Many, however, still don't have standalone websites.
Exai, a spin off of TrafficMedia, is pursuing this path with a freemium model.

Apple Inc's iconic iPhone is losing some of its luster among Asia's well-heeled consumers in Singapore and Hong Kong, a victim of changing mobile habits and its own runaway success.
Driven by a combination of iPhone fatigue, a desire to be different and a plethora of competing devices, users are turning to other brands, notably those from Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, eating into Apple's market share.

Yahoo! partners with PagesJaunes, the French Yellow Pages, to bring more local business info to search

It seems that Yahoo is looking to make a push in the French market – the popular search engine will not feature local business info in relevant results in France, pulled in from PagesJaunes. The French business directory already receives 100 million visits per year from a similar partnership with Bing, Microsoft's search engine.

Facebook Blocks Yandex’s New Social Search App From Accessing Its Data Just Three Hours After Launch

Yandex begged Facebook not to shut down its social search app Wonder that launched this morning. But the explanation Yandex’s lawyers sent us for why it’s compliant with Facebook’s policies didn’t stop Facebook from blocking all API calls from Wonder, Yandex confirms. Facebook tells me it’s now discussing policy with Yandex. The move follows a trend of Facebook aggressively protecting its data.

Samsung leads mobile phone shipments

Samsung accounted for one in four of all mobile phones shipped worldwide last year, as its shipments rose nearly 20% to 396.5 million, a report says.
Apple's phone shipments grew by 46% to a record 135.8 million mobile phones worldwide in 2012.
